School may be out for the summer, but WHRO’s children’s services team has remained hard at work! WHRO Early Childhood Coordinator Martha Razor and Education Assistant Rosalie Rodriguez have been taking part in summer camps and community events throughout Hampton Roads, VA to promote reading and literacy skills to elementary aged children and their parents.

WFYI’s 21st Annual PBS KIDS in the Park Festival Attracts 40,000

One of the largest PBS KIDS events of its kind in the nation, WFYI’s PBS KIDS in the Park is a unique family celebration, which boasts an array of educational activities that reflect WFYI’s on-going commitment to prepare young children for entry into school. This year, the event attracted more than 40,000 people to White River State Park in Indianapolis.

KBTC Summer Camps Help Prevent Summer Learning Loss, Close the Digital Divide

KBTC Kids Summer Camps aim to prevent summer learning loss and close the digital divide for low-income families in Tacoma. The two-week camps focus on building reading and math skills, with an infusion of digital learning via iPads, which feature content from PBS KIDS. The camps complement other KBTC Summer Learning activities, including the station’s Mobile Learning Lab.
