PBS SoCal’s Mobile Lab Empowers the Community with Technology
Posted by

As part of its Ready to Learn initiative, PBS SoCaL provides access to technology through its PBS SoCaL Mobile Lab. The Mobile Lab, equipped with 10 iPads and 10 Google Chrome books, offers a space for children, parents and the community to explore, learn and engage with PBS KIDS content. Children and parents can access an assortment of PBS KIDS apps, play STEM related online games, and explore hands on learning activities from their favorite shows.
Based on the idea that every new technology is an opportunity for learning, the Mobile Lab makes it easy for parents and children to use technology to create a transmedia experience at home with their smart phones, tablets, and other electronic devices. PBS SoCaL showcases the Mobile Lab in schools, at events, libraries and with partners around Southern California. The station also trains parents and teachers on how to access the resources at home and in school. From Martha Speaks and Cyberchase apps to Dinosaur Train online games, parents and teachers can help their kids learn basic vocabulary and literacy skills or science and math concepts with PBS KIDS.
Through its Mobile Lab, PBS SoCal is committed to empowering the community with technology as part of the overall learning experience. Learn more.
