KLRU and the Boys & Girls Club East performed an inauguration ceremony during their “Kids Day.” The inauguration celebrated the installment of a new digital learning center “The Demonstration Station.” It features 16 mini iPads that are jam-packed with PBS Kids content, including videos, e-books, and over 50 apps designed to improve reading, math, science, and even art skills. The Demonstration Station also includes other supporting equipment such as a projector for large group activities/screening movies, a projection screen, a PA system, and an iPad compatible printer. KLRU will be providing staff training in fun PBS curriculum to enrich B&G Club’s current out-of-school program. The Demonstration Station is part of the Ready To Learn initiative, a partnership of PBS, The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, to provide rich, educational multimedia content to this community’s children and their families. Learn more
